Trenchcoat

Bienvenidos un día más (o más bien bienvenida a mí otra vez por todo mi tiempo de ausencia). Anywayyy, hoy os traigo un post dedicado a la prenda estrella del entretiempo y personalmente mi favorita.
Welcome back! Or should I say wolcome to myself because I have been completely missing? Anyway, today I'm writing about the perfect in-between season garment and personally, my favourite. 

Hace unas semanas que me hice con ella. Fue entrar a Zara (bendito Zara y sus constantes imitaciones a diseñadores) y enamorarme de ella. Por si todavía no lo sabéis os hablo de la gabardina. 
Couple of weeks ago I finally got it in my hands. I went into Zara (holy Zara and its continued imitations to fashion designers) and I fell in love with it. If you don't know yet about what I'm talking about, it's the trench, or trench coat.

La gabardina es una prenda que su tejido fue inventado por el británico Thomas Burberry allá por 1880. Esta prenda las empezaron a usar las tropas de Garibaldi (os hablo de la unificación de Italia) y después fue utilizada en la Primera Guerra Mundial (sobre todo en la armada británica). 
The trenchcoat's material was invented by Thomas Burberry back in 1880. This garment was first used by the Garibaldi tropes (I'm talking about Italy's unification) and then in the Fist World War (specially by the British Army).

Se popularizó sobre todo en los años 30 y 40, cuando los actores de Hollywood la usaban para dar vida a los Gángsters.

En los años 60 fue popularizada por los Mods, que la combinaban con jerseys de cuello alto. 
It became really popular in the 30's and 40's when Hollywood stars used them for Gangster's roles. In the 60's it was very popular because of the Mods. They usually wore them with turtle necks.

Aunque años atrás fuera únicamente utilizada por hombres, hoy la usan ambos sexos en distintos colores, estampados, larguras y estilos distintos. 
Even though it was only used by men, nowadays it is used by both men and women in different styles, lenghts and colours.

Es considerada una prenda de entretiempo (ideal para el otoño) porque no es tan abrigada. Pero hoy en día gracias a los forros de piel, plumas o acolchados la podemos considerar una prenda de abrigo.
It is considerated the best in-between season garment (speacially for autumn) because it's not that warm. But nowadays because of fur or feather lining, we can use it as a warmer coat. 

No sé a vosotros, pero a mí me parece muy interesante conocer la historia detrás de cada prenda. Si os interesa tanto como a mí hacédmelo saber, porque estaré encantada de escribir más posts así!!

 Y finalmente aquí estoy yo con mi gabardina (que por cierto parece que no tengo piernas, pero así destaca más). Es el look que escogí ayer para ir al cine con mi mami, que fuimos a ver 'Un monstruo viene a verme'. ¿La habéis visto? ¿Qué os parece? Por si estáis interesados mi gabardina es de Zara, la podéis encontrar aquí y es la talla M. Yo hubiera cogido la S, pero mi madre me insistió en que cogiera una talla más, pues de caderas me estaba un poco prieta. Aunque de mangas y largo me estaba muy larga, mi maravillosa madre me acorto ambas cosas en un día, y ahora me está perfecta! (Gracias mami, qué haría yo sin ti!!)
And finally here I am with my trench. I chose this oufit (it looks like I have got no legs) for a cinema date with my mum. We went to see 'A Monster Calls'. Have you seen it? What's your opinion about it?
My trench it's from Zara (here) and this time I chose the M size (I normally wear S). But my mum insisted that it fit me a bit small on the hips so that's why I chose a bigger size. Even though the lenght was too long for me (the same for the arms) my incredible mum shorted it and now fits me perfectly!!
